Nokia N95 SUPER-Phone!

nokiaN95.jpgMobilephone fanatics rejoice! Minutes ago Nokia announced two new N-Series phones – the N75 & N95.

The former, a clamshell and the smallest in N-series line, hits the market later this year. But what gets me all excited is the the latter, making its debut in early 2007.

The N95 is a reincarnation of the Nokia N80 with a bit of the high end multimedia features ala the N73. With its arrival dawns the age of Nokia cell phones that are also multimedia computers – the Finnish company definitely thinks so.

The phone boasts of a feature set unheard of in mobile phones today, a 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss digital camera, a built in GPS device, a 2.6″ QVGA 16 million color display, WiFi, Bluetooth, 160MB built in memory, stereo speakers and a 3.5mm audio jack plus support for miniSD and mini USB. And that’s not all, its Nokia’s first phone to support the HSDPA (HSDPA is basically technology that allows Broadband speeds).

Although I personally think that the design could be a lot more prettier, it gets plus points for its two-way slider design. Slide it up and you get a keyboard as it would on the N80. Slide it down and it reveals a set of multimedia keys. Pretty nifty.

The device is said to retail for about $700 – the going rate of the N80 when it was released earlier this year. Too bad we’ll have to wait a while longer.
