Venezuela wins Back-to-Back Miss Universe Titles
For the first time in the history of the Miss Universe pageant has a country won back to back titles. Venezuela picked up that honor today when Stefania Fernandez was crowned Miss Universe 2009. Stefania was crowned by her country woman Dayana Mendoza.
In a humorous turn of events the two Venezuelans hugged each other and started jumping up and down. And then in excitement, as she was about to crown her successor Dayana Mendoza dropped the new Diamond Nexus crown on the floor. After a quick recover she threw the crown on the new Miss Universe and dashed off the stage.
I partly agree with the results although halfheartedly as I was so sure that my prediction Dominican Republic had already the title in the bag. Anyway Venezuela was in my TOP 5 and I had said that had she toned down her Prelims look she could very well bring the first back to back win for her country. She did tone down the look and let her hair down. And well she did give the best answer to the final question. So good for her. She is a very stunning beauty under all those layers of make up.
